Infinite Points is used to describe an exploit, bug, glitch or any other method can that be used to collect additional points repeatedly, though the scenario in where they can be collected will be limited to 'while you are there'.This can be performed during regular gameplay without requiring access to any form of debug. If this is performed enough times, all Infinite Points glitches can lead to the Variable Overflow glitch.
